Super Eagles dance to Shallipopi ahead of CHAN
The team led by Eric Chelle stormed the venue of the game, singing and dancing with a loudspeaker.
In a video by the African football governing body on social media, the team is dancing to the hit song by Nigerian Afrobeats star Shallipopi.
To earn a spot in the tournament, the Super Eagles overcame Ghana in a home-and-away jollof derby.
The team played a 0-0 and a 2-2 draw with Zanzibar in friendly matches before to the CHAN after a second-phase training camp in Zanzibar from July 25 to July 31.
Ahead of the challenging group stage, head coach Eric Chelle has put together a 23-man roster.
The defending CHAN winners, Senegal, are the clear favorites to defeat Nigeria in the first game.
Nigeria at CHAN
Nigeria did not make it past the group stage in Rwanda in 2016, after winning the bronze medal in 2014 and finishing second four years later.
The team regrettably missed the Algerian-hosted finals two years ago and failed to qualify for the 2021 event in Cameroon.
The match between Senegal and Nigeria is scheduled to begin at 6 PM Nigerian time on Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
