Misturat nets stunning goal as Robo Queens thrash Adamawa Queens

Yusuf Misturat scored a wonder goal as Lagos-based club Robo Queens have registered their biggest win of the season so far in the Nigeria Women's Football League, NWFL.

Robo produced a masterclass performance to dispatch their visitors Adamawa Queens 3-0 at the Legacy Pitch, National Stadium, Surulere on Wednesday evening.

The trio of Misurat, who scored the goal of the day, Onyenezide Esther and Shobowale Rukayat Olushola were the difference makers for the Landladies as they easily brushed aside their counterparts from the North. 

Robo dominated the encounter from start to finish but were made to wait until the 17th minute for the breakthrough it came through a special goal.

Right-back Misturat produced a moment of magic as she let fly a 30-yard strike to put Robo ahead.

Adamawa reacted positively to going a goal down and thought they had drawn level when they had the ball at the back of the net following a counter.

However, in a controversial circumstance, the referee awarded a penalty instead after a foul in the build-up to that goal much to the disappointment of the away bench.

Adamawa went on to miss the spot-kick moments later and were made to regret it when Robo doubled their advantage just before the break.

This time, an excellent counter-attacking move was expertly finished off by the brilliant Onyenezide Esther to give the home side a comfortable 2-0 lead.

After the break, it was more of the same from both sides as the Landladies continues their dominance on the ball.

However, there were no other goals until Olushola came off the bench to wrap things up with the third goal following great work from Ajakaye.
