Man United: Red Devils eye £55m move for Champions League winner Mason Mount
English giant Manchester United have joined the race to sign Chelsea’s midfielder Mason Mount.
United are set to launch a whopping £55m bid for the Chelsea star as they look to improve their squad ahead of next season.
Mount, 24, who is currently injured, is reportedly the primary target for United’s manager, Erik Ten Hag, who is keen to add the England international to his team per Daily Mail.
United mulling over Mount
The future of the 24-year-old at Stamford Bridge has been a subject of speculation following a difficult 2022/23 campaign.
Mount is entering his the final year of his contract with the Blues and could be tempted to continue his future away from the club.
However, while the Red Devils are readying to begin talks over the transfer, they will need to significantly increase their offer to meet Chelsea’s £85m valuation.
Mount’s season
The England international has struggled to replicate his form of past seasons following a difficult period for the club.
He has struggled with injuries and form which have limited him to just 24 appearances this season, with just five goals contributed.
Mount has not featured regularly for the Blues since he played from start to finish against Crystal Palace back in Jan 15, 2023.
