Mali vs Senegal: Teranga Lions book a place in 2025 AFCON semi-final following victory against the Eagles
The Teranga Lions have been in impressive form in the tournament and booked a meeting with Mali following their win against Sudan.
The Senegalese team, facing a motivated Malian side, who sent Tunisia out of the competition, did a good job getting a 1-0 win over the Eagles.
As it happened
Senegal made it to the quarter-finals after defeating Sudan 3-1 in the round of 16, with Sadio Mane leading the team.
Mali, on the other hand, shocked Tunisia 2-1 after a penalty shootout to book a place in the quarter-finals against Senegal.
With the game kicking off, both teams pushed forward in attack as they went in search of the first goal of the game.

However, it was the Teranga Lions that struck first in the 27th minute from a rebound scored by Iliman Ndiaye.
After conceding the first goal, Mali saw their hope of getting back into the game crushed following a second yellow card for Yves Bissouma, just before the halftime break.
In the second half, the Eagles defended well to stop Senegal from adding to their one-goal lead but could not be able to find their way back in the game.
Following the sound of the final whistle, the Teranga Lions secured a 1-0 victory and qualified for the semi-finals.
