Legends connect: Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra meets tennis great Roger Federer as they exchange gifts
One of the best moments in sports is when legends hang out together. This time, it's between Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra and Tennis great Roger Federer.
Chopra, the reigning World and Olympic champion in the javelin throw, was elated after meeting Federer, regarded as one of the greatest players in Tennis history.
The Indian athletics star shared pictures of their legendary meeting on his X page, where they exchanged autographed gifts for the iconic moment.
"An absolute honour to meet a sporting icon, whose career has been and continues to be an inspiration to people. I had a great time talking to you, and hopefully, we’ll meet again. @rogerfederer," wrote Chopra as his caption.
The 26-year-old javelin thrower is one of the most famous, influential, and respected Indians in the world.
Chopra rose to the ranks of a global sports personality after becoming the first Asian athlete to win an Olympic gold in the javelin throw and the first Asian to become a World Champion in the same event.
In addition, he is the first track and field athlete to win a gold medal for India at the Olympics and a two-time Asian Games champion.
