La Liga newcomer Oviedo has reportedly opened talks with striker Luka Jović, currently a free agent, according to Spanish media.

Reports suggest that Oviedo's Serbian manager, Veljko Paunović, is personally pushing for the signing of his compatriot.

However, securing Jović's signature won't be easy, as the 27-year-old striker is also attracting interest from Getafe and Mexican club Cruz Azul.

Jović has prior La Liga experience with Real Madrid, but his time there was underwhelming, managing just three goals and five assists in 51 appearances.

The Serbian international spent the last two seasons at AC Milan, where he recorded 13 goals and two assists in 47 matches.

Oviedo has already bolstered their attack with veteran Salomon Rondon, on loan from Pachuca, and also boasts the legendary 40-year-old Santiago Cazorla in their ranks.
