Barcelona were were second-best throughout the 3-0 defeat to Chelsea, a challenge compounded by Ronald Araujo’s first-half sending off, which forced them to play over half the game with ten men.
Despite the setback, Flick promised better performances ahead.
"We will see a better Barça in the future. That is what I can promise now. I see how we train.”Flick highlighted the progress being made at the training ground, noting the return of key players.
"The team is different than six weeks ago. Players are coming back and increasing the quality of training. I have this feeling and I think positive.”
The manager also pointed to Chelsea as an example for his players, praising Enzo Maresca’s side for their aggressive approach.
"When you see Chelsea, they play more dynamic in the one-v-one situations. This is what I want from my team. Sometimes we try to control the game, but here against a club playing in the Premier League, second in the table, it’s not like that.
"We have to fight a little bit more and play more aggressive.
"We started the game well. We had the chance to score the first goal and then everything changed after the red card.”
The loss leaves Barcelona struggling with just seven points from five games, prompting Flick to acknowledge the difficulty of advancing.
Flick's men host Alaves in LaLiga at the weekend, aiming to bounce back with a win.
