Addressing the media ahead of Saturday’s trip to Sunderland, Glasner put an end to months of intense speculation by revealing that his future had actually been settled much earlier.

He disclosed that he had informed Palace chairman Steve Parish of his decision to move on as far back as October.

Glasner’s tenure will be remembered for the club’s historic FA Cup triumph last season, only the second major trophy in the Eagles' history, which also secured a rare campaign in European competition.

However, despite these highs, the 51-year-old’s time in London has also been marked by visible friction

The Palace boss also brought Nigerian attacking midfielder Christantus Uche on loan from Getafe, and it is unclear if his loan will be made permanent after struggling to nail down a place in the side.

With his departure now confirmed, Glasner’s focus will remain on stabilizing the team’s league position and maximizing their remaining European fixtures before he departs in May
