'He will make them dream again' — Serie A legend urges club to sign Ademola Lookman
Ademola Lookman has been one of the best performers in Serie A over the past two seasons, and Romq legend Roberto Pruzzo believes he could be the perfect signing for the Giallorossi.
Lookman, who returned to Atalanta, ahead of their UEFA Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid, was close to leaving the club over the summer after submitting a transfer request.
Speaking to Radio Radio on Tuesday, via ForzaRoma, Pruzzo suggested that Lookman’s cycle in Bergamo is naturally reaching its conclusion following his historic exploits and recent AFCON success.
He believes the Giallorossi must act now to secure the winger’s signature to provide a spark for the second half of the season.
“Roma should sign [Ademola] Lookman, maybe on loan. His adventure with Atalanta seems to be coming to an end,” Pruzzo stated.
“With a purchase like that, Roma could really start dreaming. It would be the right move to close the season and have fun from now until the end of the season.”
The Giallorossi are currently fourth in Serie A, trailing leaders Inter Milan by seven points.
While the club has already been active this months, signing Donyell Malen from Aston Villa and Robinio Vaz from Marseille, Pruzzo believes Lookman is the specific profile needed to bridge the gap to the top.
Lookman’s stock is at an all-time high following a stellar 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where he recorded three goals and four assists to lead Nigeria to a bronze medal.
