Arsenal’s official account on X shared a video of the ex-Nigerian player scoring a hat-trick against the Blues in 1999, with the caption “A Kanu masterclass helped us complete a stunning comeback at Stamford Bridge 😍”

Following the tweet, Piers replied, “Greatest hat-trick I’ve ever seen live… losing 2-0 with 15 minutes left, then Kanu went berserk in torrential rain. The last goal was insane. 

“Arsenal fans chanted afterwards: ‘Chim chiminey, chim chiminey, chim chim cher-oo, who needs Anelka when we’ve got Kanu?!’”

Kanu scored one of the greatest comeback hat-tricks in the history of the Premier League. The forward was brought in as a substitute in the second half after the Gunners went 2-0 down in the game.

Following his introduction, the ex-Super Eagles star scored a hat-trick in just 15 minutes to complete a 3-2 comeback for Arsenal.
