Super Eagles full-back Ola Aina has been named the toughest opponent by a top Premier League winger

Arsenal winger Noni Madueke has singled out Ola Aina as one of the most difficult defenders he has faced.

The England international praised the Super Eagles star’s strength and underrated technical ability following their recent battles in the Premier League.

Madueke lauds Ola Aina

Speaking to TNT Sports, Madueke did not hesitate to name the Nottingham Forest full-back when asked about his toughest opponent.

“I’m going to give Ola Aina his flowers. Played against him a couple of times. He’s mad strong, mad physical. But, he’s also good on the ball. Some people probably wouldn’t give him the credit for that.”

Aina has built a reputation as a tough, no-nonsense defender, but Madueke’s comments highlight the Nigerian’s composure and quality in possession, attributes that often go unnoticed, especially for a full-back.

The Super Eagles star has been a consistent performer for Forest, blending defensive solidity with forward bursts that support the attack.

Ola Aina's experience in hell

Aina recently played a key role in Forest’s dominant 3-0 Europa League win over Fenerbahce in Istanbul. After the match, he cheekily responded to the hosts’ pre-game warning.

“Yeah man, we came to Istanbul and they told us ‘welcome to hell', I said fair. But it was feeling like heaven.”

With three key passes, four interceptions and six carries in that clash, Aina delivered an all-action display.

As Forest prepare for a crucial Premier League showdown against Liverpool, Aina’s growing reputation, backed by praise from rivals, shows he is earning recognition at the highest level.
