Former Arsenal striker not surprised by Arsenal's title charge
Arteta’s side went eight points clear of Manchester City on Saturday afternoon after defeating Leeds 4-1 with nine more games to go.
A swift change was made this season after finishing fifth in the league last year after a late-season collapse in which they lost two of their final three games and failed to qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
Lacazette not surprised by Arsenal’s drastic improvement
In the summer of 2022, Lacazette signed for Lyon on a free transfer from Arsenal. The Frenchman has praised the development of his old squad and claims that, given the talent of manager Mikel Arteta, he is not surprised.
Lacazette, when asked about his former side's fortunes in an interview with Foot Mercato, said, "Arsenal? I’m not surprised.
"I worked with the coach so I know how well he works. I’m not surprised by the club’s success, and I’m happy for my former team-mates there."
