Dennis fluffs his lines as Nottingham Forest suffer defeat at Fulham
Emmanuel Dennis came off the bench for his 11th league appearance this season, but Nottingham Forest were on the receiving end of a 2-0 defeat in their Premier League clash against Fulham.
Dennis had only made just ten league appearances for Forest before the game against Fulham, with only three starts.
Lacklustre Forest
Before the game against Fulham, Dennis’ last match in the Premier League was against Manchester United at Old Trafford in December.
However, he was brought on against Cottagers, with Forest trailing 1-0. Having beaten Leeds United in their last game, Forest were looking to make it back-to-back wins in the league.
But they got off to a bad start as Willian’s stunner in the 17th minute put Fulham ahead. It could have been more if not for Fulham’s profligacy in front of goal.
Fulham went into the break with a one-goal lead but Forest did show more urgency in the second half.
Forest pay Dennis price
Forest manager Steve Cooper reacted by bringing on Dennis as they searched for an equaliser.
The substitution almost worked as the former Watford man, who has just one goal this season, was presented with a glorious chance after Serge Aurier’s cross fell into this path.
However, Dennis could only blaze his effort over the bar. The miss proved to be costly as Fulham doubled their lead two minutes from time, through Manor Solomon.
Solomon’s strike sealed a comfortable win for the home side, who moved up to seventh on the Premier League table.
