Chukwueze and AC Milan don't know how lucky they are to have Modric - Rakitic

Luka Modric close friend and former international teammate Ivan Rakitic has taken to social media to wish him well in an emotional tribute.

Modric and Rakitic are part of Croatia’s golden midfield duo who led their country to the 2018 FIFA World Cup final and later, a third-place finish at Qatar 2022.

The former Barcelona midfielder shared a heartfelt message on Instagram this afternoon, accompanied by a photo of the two Croatian stars together.

Rakitic praised Modric’s decision to join the Rossoneri, calling it a move of passion and purpose.

“They don’t know how lucky they are, brother!!! Good luck, always by your side!!! Thanks, brother, for visiting!” Rakitic wrote.

The Croatian left Real Madrid after 12 trophy-laden years, where he won a total of 28 major trophies, making him one of the most decorated players ever at the club.

His haul includes: six UEFA Champions League titles, four La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey titles, five FIFA Club World Cups, five Spanish Super Cups and five UEFA Super Cups.

He was instrumental to the team's three consecutive Champions League titles under Zinedine Zidane.

Modric, who is 39, is nearing the end of his holiday and is expected to link up with the Milan squad in the coming days.
