Carlos Alcaraz wins Barcelona Open 2023, defeats Tsitsipas to retain title
Carlos Alcaraz proved too good for Stefanos Tsitsipas again, defeating the Greek 6-3, 6-4 to defend successfully his Barcelona Open title.
The young Spaniard's victory is his third title of the year and ninth ATP career title. It is also his fourth career win over Tsitsipas, his 23rd win in 2023, and the first time he defends a title in his career.

“First I want to congratulate Stef...It’s amazing to have you on tour...You’re pushing me to be a better player. Thank you for everything you’re doing for tennis as well. We’re going to share great moments, tournaments, and a lot of finals,” Alcaraz said in his post-match interview after defeating Tsitsipas.
Tsitsipas, who has now lost ten ATP 500 finals in a row, joked about Alcaraz sharing his wins.
“Carlos, take it easy hermano. Take it easy. Sharing is caring, you know. Jokes aside, congratulations for the 30th time.”
He was, however, full of praise for the youngster, who he says he sees as an example.
“I had the opportunity to see you a few years ago...Some of us who were on tour earlier were fascinated by your tennis. We see you as an example even though we’re older than you. We see your achievements as something that will push us to do better,” said Tsitsipas.
