2026 WAFCON: Super Falcons of Nigeria start qualifiers against Benin Republic
Ten-time champions the Super Falcons of Nigeria will face the She-Cheetahs of Benin Republic in October in their first qualification game for the 2026 Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The Super Falcons avoid the Cameroon's Indomitable Lionesses who have a challenging matchup against Algeria's Lady Fennecs.

Nigeria's possible group opponents the Indomitable Lionesses were unable to advance to this year's WAFCON tournament which were held in Morocco.
While Nigeria battles neighbors Benin Republic, Cameroon WAFCON finalist in 2014 and 2016 will take on Algeria growing force in women's football on the continent.
Algeria are a possible opponent in the next round last faced the Super Falcons in a friendly played in Abeokuta.
Benin Republic hosts the first leg while Nigeria will host the return leg after with both games scheduled between October 20 and October 28.
The upcoming final qualifying matches have a total of 22 countries involved in two leg fixtures.
The eleven teams from the qualification stage with join tournament hosts Morocco at the WAFCON set for March 2026.
All four semi-finalists at the 2026 WAFCON will receive tickets to the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup finals in Brazil.
