Love Nwantiti crooner CKay will bring his star power to the CHAN closing ceremony.
Nigerian singer-songwriter and record producer Chukwuka Ekweani known as CKay is set to perform at one of the biggest football tournaments on the African continent.
The 27-year-old Ckay is the star performer for the closing ceremony of the 2022 African Nations Championship (CHAN).
Ckay known for his massive global hit Love Nwantiti is set to put on a show at the closing ceremony of the seventh edition of the biennial association football tournament.
CKay to perform at CHAN closing ceremony
The Super Eagles of Nigeria home-based team failed to qualify for the tournament which has produced several upsets from the group phase to the knockout rounds.
Love Nwatiti is one of the second most viewed Nigerian music video on YouTube while holding the record for the most streamed on several platforms/
The hit song has catapulted Ckay into the elite stratosphere of Afrobeat musicians from Nigeria and now he has the opportunity to perform with the eyes of the African football world watching.
The performance of Ckay was put in place with the blessing of Warner Music, Atlantic Records, and the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) organizers of the CHAN tournament.
Ckay has performed at several international arenas with several top footballers vibing to the hit song Love Nwatiti on their social media platforms.
The selection of Ckay to perform at the CHAN comes after Nigerian-American singer, songwriter, and record producer David Adeleke known as Davido performed as at the World Cup closing ceremony with over a billion people watching worldwide
At the opening ceremony, North African sensation Dounia performed his hit song “Viva l’Algérie”/
Cheb Rayan performed "Dana Dana", and Congolese musician Faly Ipupa was present as well as his compatriot Dadju who performed the hit song "Mon Soleil".
El Hammamet rounded up the opening ceremony with the hit track “Suavemente” as hosts Algeria took on Libya.
Ckay now awaits the winners of the semifinal pairings as host nation Algeria takes on Niger Republic while Senegal faces off against Madagascar.
The closing ceremony for the 2022 CHAN in Algeria will take place just before the final scheduled for the Nelson Mandela Stadium, Algiers on Saturday, February 4, 2023.
At the closing ceremony, CKay will perform with distinguished guests in attendance such as FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
