In a congratulatory message by the President, Lawal Adeoye Waheed, and the Secretary, Mr. Babalola Semiu Adesina, said that the appointment is in line with the state's plans to host the biennial National Sports Festival known as the "Gateway Games 2024."
The Club urged the commissioner to start the process of reestablishing the Gateway state as the sporting capital of Africa's most populous nation.

The 2018 Ogun State Federations' Cup winners urged the commissioner to seek out and welcome input and suggestions from relevant stakeholders in the sports industry that will assist him in piloting the affairs of the sector to enviable heights.
The Club pleaded with the commissioner to apply his skills and knowledge gained while serving as the Governor of Ogun's most recent senior special assistant. Internally generated revenue is used to find funding sources, rehabilitate deteriorating sporting infrastructures, and assist athletes in their ascent to the highest levels of competition.
