The student of Igbore High School in Abeokuta said he was assured that the crowds cheering on their favorite wrestlers did not frighten him.
A wrestler from Ogun state, Obasanjo Okikijesu, has declared that he is Lion and he cant wait to soar to the world with intention to compete for Nigeria in several cadet wrestling competitions in 2024.
In the boy's 44 kg freestyle category at the ongoing National Youth Games in Asaba, Okikijesu won a gold medal.

He said, “I can represent Nigeria at various African Cadet Wrestling Championships next year with the support of the Nigerian Wrestling Federation led by Hon Daniel Igali and the help of the Lord.

“I am happy to win a gold medal in my debut at the National Youth Games. This gold medal was made possible with the support of my coach, who trains me day and night not forgetting the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun who released the funds for the contingents as well as the Commissioner of Sports; I appreciate them.

He said, “I was not afraid taking on the host state in the final because my coach always tells me that a battle is a circle where a fighter has to survive. I am a soldier who desires to win and let the battle begin”.
Okikijesu was awarded an instant cash prize by the director of Ogun State Sports, Mrs. Folakemi Iyabode Rotimi, after he won gold for Ogun.
