Ibudo Rugby Academy will represent Lagos at National Youth Games

The Youth Games are scheduled to be held in Asaba, the Delta State Capital, from September 7th–17th.

Ahead of the seventh edition of the National Youth Games (NYG) in Asaba, Ibudo Rugby will be representing Team Lagos at the Games.

The academy qualified after they pick the ticket in Ibadan, in the U-15 boys no other state fielded a boys squad and the girls faced Ogun State and won 10-0.

Ibudó Rugby Association, branded Ibudó Academy, has been training kids in Lagos State for the last 12 months.

The coaches, under the leadership of Samson Okeowo, visit schools across Lagos State every week to provide coaching to interested kids.

Schools such as Dorcas Memorial, Toyebat Comprehensive, Cardoso Catholic School, CMS Grammar, MORIT International, and Unity Schools amongst others.

FG adopts operation NIN for Athletes

The Federal Government of Nigeria has initiated a National Identification Number (NIN) verification policy for Participating Athletes.

The NIN policy was announced at the end of the technical meetings between the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development officials, the Delta State Sports Commission, the local organizing committee, and technical directors from the 36 states and the FCT, Abuja.

The meeting also revealed the modalities to adopt for the Seventh National Youth Games to be hosted by the ‘Big Heart of the Nation’
