It was a case of two one-sided affairs as Nigeria's u-18s and 20s breezed past the two Southern African nations.

Nigeria's national under-18 and 20 male teams cruised to big wins on day 3 of the IHF Challenge Trophy Continental Phase which is being played at the Gymnase Nicole OBA ( Nicole Oba Gymnasium) in Brazzaville, Congo.

Coach Emeka Nnamani's under-18 team did not sweat much as they annihilated Zambia with a 55-16 victory.

After a shaky start in Congo, the under-20s are off the mark in the IHF Continental Phase.

It was the same story for the under-20 team led by Coach Fidelis Obi as they emphatically cut down Zimbabwe with a 50-19 victory.

The journey so far

It's been an interestinh journey for the Nigerian teams in the IHF Challenge Trophy in Congo.

After the opening day which saw Nigeria win one and lose the other game, the u-18s and 20 have gone from strength to strength.

The youngest of the two, the u-18s, with the latest victory have improved their records to three wins in three matches.

Coach Nnamani's boys started their campaign with a comprehensive and comfortable 45 - 30 win over Burundi before a 28-22 victory over host, Congo followed.

For the u-20s

The coach Obi boys have overcome their shaky start to the IHF Challenge Trophy to make it two wins in the last two matches.

The U-20s started with a narrow 28-26 defeat to Guinea before bouncing back in style against Madagascar following a 51-30 win in their second game of the tournament.

The u-20s will be the only Nigerian side in action on day 4.

Up next

Nigeria's u-18s won't be on duty on Thursday, making the under-20 team the only Nigerian team to feature on day 4. They face Rwanda at 1 pm in search of their third consecutive victory.
