The sprint sensation will be gracing the Omanyala Tennis 10’s happening on Saturday at the Nairobi Club.

With the athletics track and field season drawing it's curtains, Africa’s fastest man Ferdinand Omanyala already has plans on Saturday, September 30.

After his third-place finish at the Prefontaine Classic, the Kip Keino Classic champion took a break from the track. He has had a mixed season where he bagged wins in some races and lost others.

His worst outing was at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary where expectations were high for him to medal but he faded to finish seventh.

He ended his season in Eugene, USA and he will be looking to bounce back at the Olympic Games next year.

The 27-year-old will now be returning to the field but this time around not to compete but for the Omanyala Tennis 10’s tournament.

In a post on his X (Twitter) handle, the sprint sensation said: “The Junior Tennis Initiative is an ITF program aimed at increasing participation for all.

"As an ambassador of JTI Kenya, I want to inspire the next generation of tennis champions through the tennis tournament. Come and join us as we create memorable experiences.”

The event will be happening at the Nairobi Club and will feature six years and below category, eight years and under category, 10 years and under orange, and 10 years and under green.

The entry fee will be Ksh 1000 and the money is to be deposited in the 9414499 till number ahead of the event.
