88 athletes have already qualified and more are expected as the Paris Olympics is slated for July 26 to August 11.

Nigeria's athletes are preparing for the Paris Olympics as the Minister of Sports Development, John Enoh has announced the start of domestic training camps across Lagos, Bayelsa, Oyo states, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Enoh emphasized the importance of these camps and revealed plans for additional foreign training tours to Countries like Germany, Spain, Italy, and even the US are being considered.

The comprehensive roadmap and training program were developed during a meeting with sports federations.

"The combination of domestic camping and foreign training tours is essential. It ensures our athletes are well-prepared and ready to compete at the highest level,” he said.

Enoh aims to surpass Nigeria's best Olympic performance at the 1996 Atlanta Games.

“Surpassing our best Olympic performance is a goal that we should target to meet. We must build on our past successes and strive for excellence in Paris 2024,” Enoh confirmed to NAN.

The plan includes providing access to top-notch facilities and expert coaching, both within Nigeria and abroad, with 88 qualified athletes and more expected.

The Paris Olympics is slated for July 26 to August 11.
