In a court lawsuit, a lady who accused UFC star Conor McGregor of raping her has won her claim for damages.
The Irish mixed martial arts competitor was found guilty by a jury of assaulting Nikita Hand in a hotel in Dublin in December 2018.
He has been ordered to compensate her for damages of more than €248,000, or almost 438 million naira.
Speaking outside the court on Friday, Ms. Hand said her experience served as a reminder that you have a voice, regardless of your fear of speaking up.
McGregor thanked everyone and stated that he would appeal the decision in a post on X on Friday night.
He said, "I am with my family now, focused on my future."
'I want to show Freya, and every other girl and boy that you can stand up for yourself if something happens to you, no matter who the person is - and justice will be served'

After taking on the case against McGregor, Nikita Hand claimed to be "overwhelmed" by the support she received.
After a day of deliberation, the Dublin High Court jury found that McGregor had indeed assaulted Ms. Hand.
Additionally, she had filed a complaint against James Lawrence, a 35-year-old resident of Dublin's Rafter's Road, Drimnagh.
She claimed that he had sexually abused her in the Beacon Hotel by having sex with her against her will.
The 35-year-old hair colorist's allegations were refuted by both men, who claimed to have had separate, consensual sex with Ms. Hand at the hotel nearly six years prior.
