New Zealand professional mixed martial artist of Nigerian descent Israel Mobolaji Adesanya continues to step up preparation ahead of his return to the octagon.
The 33-year-old is ramping up for a rematch against Brazilian professional mixed martial artist Alexsandro Pereira.
Pereira defeated Adesanya at Madison Square Garden in New York to become the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight title holder.

Adesanya on preparation for Pereira
Adesanya took to his official social media to post a video featuring former American professional boxer and activist Muhammad Ali.
Ali a former boxing heavyweight champion is regarded as one of the greatest combat sports athletes of all time.
Adesanaya has always talked about the influence of Ali and just two weeks before his return to the octagon put out a video of the boxing icon on his official social media platforms.
Along with the video was a message that said, “He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life” - 🐐…We are LIVE!!!
Adesanya's mindset for the rematch against Pereira
The style bender in his latest preparation for the fight against Pereira talked about his mindset.
In the video on his official YouTube channel, Adesanya said this is his last shot to get a victory against Pereira after two losses in kickboxing tournaments back in 2015 and 2016 before their first UFC match-up.

UFC Israel Adesanya responds to taunting by Alex Pereira
Adesanya is taking no prisoners as he prepares for his rematch against Pereira.
He said, “I’m hunting, and I mean that in every sense of the word,”
“The mindset is different, definitely. Even (coach) Eugene (Bareman) and I are on the same page. The mindset is definitely different.
“I like it because it puts it all on me, and it’s kind of poetic in a way. One life: Roll the dice. This is my last shot, and I’m going to give it all I’ve got in every sense of the word.”
Adesanya takes on Pereira in the main event of UFC 287 scheduled for Sunday, April 9, 2023, at the Miami-Dade Arena in Miami, Florida.
