The former Everton tactician accepted the Blues’ offer following a managerial change.
Frank Lampard’s first assignment as Chelsea’s interim manager is a match against Wolves at Molineux on Saturday.
The 44-year-old tactician was confirmed as the caretaker manager for the Blues, who parted company with Graham Potter. This is also Lampard’s first managerial job since he was sacked by Everton in January.
In Potter’s last game against Aston Villa, Chelsea suffered a 2-0 defeat and slipped to 11th place.
Lampard’s major worry should be Chelsea’s blunt attacks; the Blues have scored at least two or more goals in just three of their last 20 Premier League matches and have failed to score at all in 10 games during this run.
Meanwhile, Wolves are also not in good form as they are engaged in the relegation dogfight. Since their 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur in early March, Wolves have picked up just one point from their last nine available.
