This happened in South Africa, where they were scheduled to play a continental game.

Yanga SC reportedly did not change in the dressing room, claiming there was an unpleasant smell.

This was during Wednesday’s CAF Confederation Cup match against Marumo Gallants, which they went on to win 2-1 and 4-1 on aggregate. Fiston Mayele and Kennedy Musonda were the scorers for the Tanzanian Premier League champions.

The Kariakoo-based side is said to have changed in the corridors before the match started at Royal Bafokeng Stadium.

This is not the first time the team has faced allegations of not using the assigned dressing room.

In 2020, Yanga were ordered to pay Tsh200,000 after the players and members of the technical bench did not use the official dressing rooms during their Premier League match against Tanzania Prisons.

Meanwhile, the win was important for the Timu ya Wananchi as they booked a ticket to the final, which is their first-ever appearance at the ultimate stage of the continental competition.

The Tanzanian giants will now face USM Alger in the final after the Algerian side beat ASEC Mimosas of Ivory Coast 2-0 in the other semi-final.
