The Leopards fans mobbed chairman Dan Shikanda and skipper Munene to find out why the team is underperforming following another toothless display against Muhoroni Youth.

A section of AFC Leopards fans confronted club chairman Dan Shikanda and captain Washington Munene in a bid to seek answers following Ingwe’s goalless draw against Muhoroni Youth in an FKF Premier League match on Saturday.

The supporters had watched Leopards put up another toothless display when they failed to score a goal for the third straight match as they remain winless in the new season.

Leopards’ fans had hoped that the two-week international break, when no Ingwe player was selected to the national team, would have given them ample time to correct the mistakes that saw them record a goalless draw against FC Talanta before losing 1-0 to KCB but they still endured a tough afternoon at Kasarani Stadium and they made their feelings known to the two.

“What is wrong, we want answers. Three games no win and no goal. (Tom) Juma must go, he is not helping the team,” a fan told Shikanda as the supporters confronted him after the match.

However, the Ingwe chairman pleaded for patience. He said: “This is a new team, the wins will come.”

Munene meanwhile was at pains to explain what is ailing the team as the supporters sought clarity on why Leopards are underperforming.

“You cannot string together even three complete passes, some players are not being fielded. We brought in (Clifton) Miheso for big money but he is on the bench, what is the problem?” one fan asked.

“We are struggling against lesser sides and we have not even met top teams like Kakamega Homeboyz and Tusker, look at the teams we are drawing against and those beating us, next it’s Kenya Police. Even Murang’a Seal and Kariobangi Sharks are playing well. As the captain, tell us what is going on," another supporter asked Munene.

The former Wazito defender also responded with a call for patience while urging those dissatisfied to seek answers from the club hierarchy.

“We cannot change anything now, we have to go gradually but as fans, if you feel something is not right, there is a channel to raise the issues,” said Munene.

Leopards fans have been disappointed by the club’s poor start to the season and calls of ‘Juma must go’ were loud in the stands at Kasarani Stadium as they laboured to break down Muhoroni.

Juma took over from his boss Patrick Aussems, who quit in July after two-and-a-half years in charge, and the supporters were hoping for instant success even though Ingwe signed 12 new players but it looks like they will still have to be patient.
