Wasteful Lewandowski fails to catch Mbappe as Barcelona end LALIGA season with a win

Barcelona beat Athletic Club 3-0 at the usually daunting San Mamés to close out a triumphant LALIGA campaign with a victory.

Robert Lewandowski scored a brace inside the first 20 minutes, threatening to score the six goals needed to at least share the Pichichi title with Kylian Mbappe. However, he missed two other big opportunities, and Barcelona's next goal came from Dani Olmo, after the Polish striker had left the pitch.

The home team came out strong, pressuring Barcelona from the start. A brilliant move led to a potential opening goal, but Maroan Sannadi's header was ruled out for offside.

Barcelona took control of the game, with Pedri's quick free-kick leading to Robert Lewandowski's 100th goal for the club. The Polish striker doubled the lead with a header two minutes later, taking him to 27 goals this season, four behind Mbappe in the Pichichi race. 

Lewandowski had several chances to complete his hat-trick but squandered them. Athletic had some opportunities, but Barcelona's defence held strong. In the end, Dani Olmo sealed the win with a penalty in the 94th minute, sealing a dominant victory.
