Tudun Wada has won the inaugural Nationwide League One/Ikukuoma Super Cup after defeating Ave FC 3-2 on penalties.

It was a sight to witness at the Uboma Secondary School Stadium Complex, as both teams deserved to hoist the trophy after the final game ended 1-1 in regulation time.

Tudun Wada thought they had seized the lead after a quick turn of speed by Yakubu a minute after the half-hour mark. Mohammed placed him in behind and did enough to get him to shoot from a tight angle, but his shot hit the side netting.

In the 35th minute, Ave FC goalkeeper Sebastine Chibuike was forced to make a reaction save, stretching superbly to save a shot from Rabiu Abdullahi.

Rabiu Abdullahi came close to scoring the game's opening goal in the 48th minute after capitalizing on Shamsudeen Rabiu's superb through ball, around goalkeeper Chibuike but hitting the upright with his shot.

Salisu Idris broke the deadlock four minutes before the hour mark when he put Tudun Wada up nodding home off a set piece.

Adesokan Abdulmalik scores a penalty for Ave FC with 13 minutes remaining in the final. There were no further goals scored as both teams headed to penalty kicks to determine the winner of the match.

It was Tudun Wada FC day as they converted three of the kicks while Ave FC lost three as well.
