Barcelona's manager answers questions on the rumours linking his forward, Memphis Depay out of the club.
Barcelona's manager Xavi Hernandez announced today in the pre-game press conference for Barcelona's Copa del Rey tie against Ceuta that he would speak to Memphis Depay to know whether he wants to leave.
Depay, who has been used sparingly by Xavi, is said to want out of the club, with many reports in the past week linking the Dutch forward to a move to Barcelona's rivals Atletico Madrid.
Xavi to talk to Depay
Xavi was asked in a press conference ahead of Barcelona's Copa del Rey clash against Ceuta about the situation of Memphis Depay, who is reported to want out of the club.
The Spanish manager responded that he had no news and would speak with the 28-year-old today to determine whether he truly wanted to leave.

"I don't have any news about Memphis," Xavi said.
"He's professional, and I'm delighted with him. He's a good player for the locker room. In principle, I count on him for everything.
"Today I'll talk to Memphis to find out what idea he has, whether he wants to leave or not.
"I know it's not an easy situation for him because he's playing less. But I don't know if he wants to leave or not."
Depay under Xavi
Memphis Depay was meant to be the star of post-Messi Barcelona after he joined from Lyon for free in the summer of 2021 under manager Ronald Koeman, and he was the star for a while.
He scored 12 goals in 28 games in his first season in LaLiga, with most of the goals coming in his earlier games.
However, he suffered injuries, Ronald Koeman was fired, the new manager Xavi made many offensive acquisitions, and Depay saw himself fall down the pecking order.

The Dutch-Ghanaian has only played four games this season, and only two came in LaLiga, out of the 16 league games the Blaugrana have played.
