The Black Dolphins have parted ways with the 21-year-old attacker after a three-year working relationship

Tanzania Premier League giants Simba Sports Club have been handed a major transfer boost as striker Eric Kabwe has left DR Congo giants AS Vita on mutual consent.

The 21-year-old opted not to renew his contract with Black Dolphins as his relationship with the club's management was said to be tense in recent weeks.

Kabwe has confirmed he has left Vita, having enjoyed fantastic form that earned him a call-up to the DR Congo national team.

"We separated amicably. The club gave me a release letter. I am now ready to receive offers as life goes on," said Kabwe, as quoted by FootRDC.

Kabwe has been heavily linked with a possible move to Msimbazi Reds for the past two months, although he previously denied any knowledge of the reports.

Simba reportedly contacted AS Vita about his availability in the next transfer window.

The enquiry triggered Vita to table an improved three-year contract, but Kabwe rejected it, arguing he wanted to test himself at a higher level.

Kabwe joined Vita in August 2020 from another DR Congo side FC Lubumbashi Sports.

The left-footer was nurtured at TP Mazembe Academy as a teenager before seeking greener pastures as it became more apparent he would not be promoted to the first team.

Kabwe debuted for DR Congo national team in the goalless draw against Uganda in the 2023 African Nations Championship in Algeria in January.
