Frustr ated Roma fans have sent a clear message to Jose Mourinho and his boys to ‘show some balls’ after being humiliated by Genoa.

AS Roma fans have made their frustrations towards Jose Mourinho and his players known as they were humiliated 4-1 by Genoa on Thursday night, demanding they 'show some b***s'.

Goals from Albert Gudmundsson, Mateo Retegui, Morten Thorsby, and Junior Messias saw the hosts dismantle Mourinho's side.

Bryan Cristante's equaliser in the 22nd minute proved to mean little as Roma fell to defeat which made it one win in six Serie A matches at the start of the season.

The defeat also signaled a new record for Mourinho, with five points in six matches beating his previous low of seven in six with Chelsea in 2015-16.

Losing 4-1 led to the fans chanting at Mourinho and his players after the match.

Fans could be heard chanting things like,  “We want respect”, “We've had enough” and “Show us some b***s”

“Show us respect. Show some b***s. Enough of this,” the fans chanted.

Speaking in response to DAZN, Mourinho admitted there was a lack of team spirit after losing star players such as Chris Smalling through injury.

“To say we lost the solidity because we are missing this or that player is not fair either,” he said. “Solidity is also the consequence of team spirit and collective work to track back. We have lost some of that.”

The Portuguese manager hit back when asked about the poor start to the season - and pointed to his recent record in major European finals.

“It is the worst of my career too,” he said. “However, I also think it is the first time that Roma have played two European Finals in a row.”

The former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss also sent a message to his players as he said that they must work hard on the training ground despite feeling 'hurt'.

“It is the squad we have and with this squad, we must emerge from this situation.

“There is no more transfer window, nobody can leave or arrive, this is the group we have with its qualities and its problems.

“ We have no time to cry. We can cry internally, because it hurts our heart, especially for me because of my rapport with the Roma fans. But tomorrow we will be back at work. The next game is worth three points, not seven or eight, but it becomes a very, very important match for us.”
