Babu, who also doubles up as the Kenya u18 head coach, has opted to remain-tight lipped when asked if he was interested in taking the Kenya Police job permanently.

Kenya Police FC interim head coach Salim Babu has remained coy about his chances of assuming the head coach role on a permanent basis.

Babu has been in charge of the side since they opted to part ways with Zdravko Logarusic in December following their 2-0 loss to KCB after making volatile statements in the aftermath of the match about the quality of his players.

Logarušić threatened to sack all his players and replace them with new ones, which irked plenty of players in the dressing room and left the club's management with no choice but to give him his marching orders.

Babu has taken charge of the team for two games, with his first being against Tusker where the side lost 1-0, but then followed it up with a 3-0 rout of Kakamega Homeboyz.

The Junior Stars tactician has remained tight lipped when quizzed whether he wanted to take the job permanently.

“This job permanently? Let us see. We will talk about it on another day,” Babu told Pulse Sports.

Babu led Nzoia Sugar to a fourth-place finish in the FKF- PL last season before he resigned in July to join the law enforcers as an assistant coach, deputizing Francis Baraza, who was sacked in September.

The Millers were consistent for the better part of the season before falling apart in the final stages of the season as eventual winners Gor Mahia and runners-up Tusker FC jostled for the top spot.

Babu  claimed that his decision to join the club as an assistant coach, a step down from head coaching duties was driven by the desire to undertake his CAF ‘B’ course.

Baraza had informed Pulse Sports earlier in the year that part of the reason he brought the former Kisumu All-Stars coach in was because he thought he would potentially have done a good job permanently in the long-run.

"I know him very well. He has no ill intentions, is God-fearing, and works very hard at everything he does. He is there to learn," Baraza said.

"Should I leave the club, Salim will also be able to do that job, and much better for that matter," he added
