BREAKING Rivers United coach Fatai Osho resigns

Fatai Osho was a part of the Rivers United side that successfully lifted the NPFL title last season.

Rivers United's Chief coach Fatai Osho has left the NPFL champions with immediate effect, Pulse Sports Nigeria can report.

Osho has resigned from his position as the chief coach of the Pride of Rivers following a statement on his official social media page.

"I resign my position as the Chief Coach of Rivers United," Osho posted on his Facebook page. "Best wishes to the team," he added.

The former Enyimba boss was appointed by United two years ago after he also resigned from his position at neighbours, Enyimba.

Osho left his role at the Aba Township Stadium in the summer of 2021 and did not take too long to get back on the grass in Port Harcourt as Chief coach.

Fatai Osho had a successful stint at Rivers United.

But before that, he first came into the limelight with Ikenne-based Remo Stars, whom he guided to the NPFL for the first time in their history in 2018.

The Sky Blues were relegated that season with the talented gaffer staying with the club and guiding them back to the elite division before he left again.

Rivers United are unbeaten in the last five matches across all competitions.

He was then snapped up by the People’s Elephant where he globalised his unique brand of football called ‘Sugar ball’ before he resigned in 2021.

Osho’s time at the has been the most successful in recent times at the Pride of Rivers.

During his two-year stint as the Chief Coach, the Pride became NPFL champions, won the state FA Cup and reached the quarterfinal of the CAFCC.
