Real Madrid believe they have found a rival for Barcelona's Lamine Yamal although they will not rush him into the first team as Barcelona have done with their 16-year-old prodigy

According to reports in Spain, Real Madrid have found their own prodigious 16-year-old talent to rival Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal, although they have chosen to treat him differently from the Blaugrana wunderkind.

Barcelona’s sensation Lamine Yamal continues to impress

Yamal has been the talk of the Spanish LaLiga and all of Europe after starring for Barcelona and the Spanish national team well before his 17th birthday, leaving several club and national team records in his wake.

The 16-year-old prodigy made his debut for Barcelona at the tail end of last season and has been a regular for the Blaugrana in the new season. He recently became the youngest player and goalscorer in the Spanish national team’s history after being involved in games against Georgia and Cyprus during the recent international break.

Other teams in LaLiga are also on the lookout for their own indigenous genius as the financial belt tightens around LaLiga, and Real Madrid believe that they have found theirs in 16-year-old La Fabrica star Paulo Iago.

The Madrid-born midfielder is considered among the best players to have graced Real Madrid’s academy in recent years, and his reputation has already seen him sign with superagent Jorge Mendes, who represents a number of top football stars.

Iago has reportedly scored up to 150 goals in Real Madrid’s academy, recovering from a double leg fracture as a child to become one of the top prospects at one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Currently, the talented youngster plays for Real Madrid’s U19 team, above his expected age category and is expected to move up the ranks to the Castilla team although a move to the senior team is far off as Los Blancos do not intend to, nor do they have a need to rush him up the ladder as Barcelona have done with Yamal.
