Both sides that have been in good form are chasing tickets that will see them join the top tier.

Promotion-chasing Shabana FC registered yet another vital National Super League (NSL) victory after edging Naivas FC 1-0 on Wednesday at the Gusii Stadium.

Peter Ongechi scored the all-important goal for Shabana in the 24th minute to ensure the club registered their fifth consecutive win.

Tore Bobe now boasts 54 points from their 24 games as they maintain a high speed towards securing their ticket back into the top-tier.

There was only one yellow card issued during the match, and Naivas’ Dennis Saida was the recipient.

Another side eyeing promotion to the Premier League, Migori Youth, registered a 2-1 victory over Mara Sugar.

Robert Ouma and Kelvin Haggai were Migori Youth’s scorers, and their 27th and 81st-minute goals were enough to help their team maintain a firm grip on third place.

Despite the win, Migori Youth saw two of their players yellow-carded; Felix Otieno was cautioned in the 47th minute for unsporting behavior, while Robert Musyoki entered the referee’s book for delaying to restart the game.

Elsewhere, Kisumu All Stars were 2-0 winners against the Silibwet Leons in another match. Reagan Okumu and Devan Omondi scored for the All Stars in the 51st and 76th minutes, respectively.

Omondi was among the players that were yellow carded, as he was cautioned in the 78th minute.

The visitors were reduced to 10 men when John Nduati was red-carded in the 43rd minute, and this handed their opponents a numerical advantage for the better part of the duel.

Meanwhile, second-placed Murang’a Seal sealed a 3-1 victory over SS Assad.

The home side had to fight back to secure the win after former Bandari midfielder Wilberforce Lugogo put Assad in front with a 14th-minute goal.

John Mwita equalized for Seal in the 35th minute, before John Kiplang’at scored the second two minutes later. The third goal was scored in the 47th minute by Titus Kapchanga.

Three players from the Seals' side were yellow-carded: Erick Juma, Wilson Mwangi, and Brian Juma were cautioned in the 35th, 54th, and 86th minutes, respectively.

Assad’s Sarai Omari, Mathias Mwatabu, and Ali Kesi were all cautioned in the 44th minute, while Erick Mwandaru received his card in the 73rd minute.
