Wrexham manager Paul Parkinson has described Manchester United's Nathan Bishop as reckless and clumsy after his player was left with a punctured lung.

Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson is an unhappy man after his star player Paul Mullin was sent to the hospital against Manchester United.

Parkinson’s Wrexham battled Premier League giants Manchester United in a pre-season friendly earlier on Wednesday morning.

The Red Dragons defeated a very youthful Manchester United side 3-1 at the Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego.

Mullin’s injury

Wrexham battled the Red Devils in a highly anticipated and publicised encounter between the two teams.

However, the famous win came at a cost for the newly promoted League Two who saw superstar Mullin end up in a hospital.

The forward collided with United’s young goalkeeper Nathan Bishop in the first half of the clash.

Mullin came out worse off from the collision which saw him taken to a hospital where he was diagnosed with a punctured lung.

Mullin proved decisive as Wrexham made history en route to promotion to League Two from League One last season.

However, the League One champions will kick off life in League Two which starts in 10 days without their talisman Mullin, who is expected to be out for some time.

Wrexham manager Parkinson has not taken the news lightly and has angrily lashed out to United’s young goalkeeper who he described as reckless.
