Ahead of the 2023 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have challenged the country's under-17 boys: the Golden Eaglets to win the trophy in Algeria.
The NFF made its position known via communique from an executive committee meeting held at the NFF secretariat on Monday, April 17.

Meanwhile, the Flying Eagles are drawn in Group B of the 2023 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations alongside 2015 runner-ups South Africa, 2013 losing semifinalists Morocco, and Zambia.
The competition returns for the first time since the Tanzania-hosted event in 2019 after the COVID-19 pandemic forced the 2021 event to be cancelled on 24 December 2020.
The Golden Eaglets go into the competition as two-time champions and will hope to make it three, having won the competition in 2001 and 2007, finished second in 1995 and 2013, and finished in third place in 2003.
