In addition to the fine, Gombe United will play a match behind closed doors without their fans.

This penalty underscores the league's commitment to maintaining decorum and safety in football matches.

The NPFL's stance sends a clear message about the consequences of fan indiscipline and the importance of clubs ensuring secure environments for players and spectators.

The NPFL's statement also highlighted a failure by Gombe United's management to provide adequate security for the visiting team.

This aspect of the sanction sheds light on the broader responsibilities of football clubs in ensuring the safety of all participants, emphasizing that the duty extends beyond the players and staff to the fans.
