Problems of the jersey
Other than the heavier feel the jerseys have on the players, it also poses a peculiar problem for the players of the women’s team, as the wet nature of the jerseys makes them bind too closely to their chests, sometimes revealing their nipples.
As Pulse Sports reported on one such occasion, Aston Villa forward Alisha Lehmann experienced a bit of a wardrobe malfunction before kickoff, with the sticky jersey causing a commotion.
The skin-tight top allowed fans to clearly see the blonde forward's nipples, a problem that the team's male players have also encountered this season.

During the warm-up for one of Aston Villa's women's games, Alisha Lehmann was wearing the wet-look jersey and was covered in sweat. The outfit looked sticky on her, which revealed the attacker's nipple under her jersey.
The players and staff of the club have repeatedly complained, and one time the Villa women’s team coach said, "It's up to the football club's legal team and Castore to discuss that and deal with that.” The discussions have been had, and now change is imminent.
Aston Villa set to receive new jerseys
According to the Evening Standard, the West Midlands club have received a new batch of jerseys that will no longer give off a wet look.
The wet-look jerseys were particularly problematic during hotter weather as players sweated more, and the complaints have waned as the atmosphere is cooler for winter, but the change has come all the same and Castore has made new, improved jerseys.
The Aston Villa men’s team did not wear the new jerseys during the victories over Arsenal and Manchester City and are not expected to debut in Thursday’s Conference League clash against Zrinjski Mostar or in the weekend against Brentford, according to the Telegraph. Should all the details be right, however, they could wear it for the first time when they host Sheffield United on December 22.
