Newcastle to battle multiple clubs for Leicester's Super Eagles star

Newcastle United aim to bolster their squad with newly-promoted Leicester City's Wilfred Ndidi.

Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United have become the latest club to express interest in Super Eagles and Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, but they will have to wrestle with a number of competitors should they decide to take him out of the King Power stadium.

Ndidi's Contract Situation and Interest from Other Clubs

The 27-year-old midfielder, who was an integral member of the Leicester City squad as the Foxes reclaimed their top-flight status last weekend, has a contract that expires in the summer.

According to Fichajes, Newcastle United and Aston Villa have also expressed interest in signing Ndidi as a free agent in the coming weeks. Both clubs are looking to bolster their midfield options, with Ndidi being listed as an attractive option for both.

Newcastle's Interest in Ndidi

Newcastle United, in particular, had an injury ridden season, and manager Eddie Howe is keen to strengthen his midfield options. Ndidi's availability on a free transfer has piqued Newcastle's interest, with the club looking to maintain competitiveness and secure a place in European competitions for the second consecutive season.

Ndidi has set his sights on playing for a club within the Premier League top six. While Newcastle United are currently 7th on the English Premier League table, Unai Emery’s Aston Villa, sitting comfortably in 4th place, have the advantage in the race to sign Ndidi.
