Gabriel Agbonlahor, a former attacker for Aston Villa, made waves when he revealed his all-time Premier League starting lineup.

Agbonlahor asserts that Nemanja Vidic, a former Manchester United defender, is not even close to the top five Premier League defenders.

Vidic moved for £7 million from Spartak Moscow to Manchester United in 2006, where he partnered with Rio Ferdinand at centre defence.

The Serbian was one of Manchester United’s best defenders during the era of Sir Alex Ferguson.

Agbonlahor comment on Vidic

Agbonlahor has listed four Premier League defenders who he believed were far better than the Vidic defender.

The former Aston Villa told talkSPORT as reported by Daily Mail, “Vidic wasn't all that! Van Dijk is better than Vidic. 100%.

“(Virgil) Van Dijk & (Vincent) Kompany over Vidic. JT (John Terry) & Rio (Ferdinand) are the best.”

Despite Agbonlahor’s comment, fellow teammate Ferdinand praised Vidic as a 'complete' defender.

He said, “He became a defender that was feared. He could fight with the most physical, he crunched into tackles, and he attacked the ball better than anyone I have ever seen.

“But, as he will tell you with a smile, he could also play with the ball too, which made him complete and a great defender.”

Vidic won two Premier League titles with Man United in 2011 and 2013, and three League Cups.

Meanwhile, Rio Ferdinand has tipped Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham can win three Ballon d'Ors'
