Nani has called Cristiano Ronaldo a machine and PSG star Vitinha a star during a recent interview.

The former Manchester United player was an ex-teammate of Cristiano Ronaldo during his playing days at Old Trafford.

Former Portuguese international spoke highly of his countrymen following their impressive outing during the UEFA Nations League.

What Nani said

Speaking to reporters at Estádio da Luz, via Abola, during the Ibercup opening ceremony, Nani touched on various topics, from the Gyokeres-Sporting saga to the possibility of Mourinho one day managing the national team.

"He's a fantastic player who has achieved a lot and has many clubs interested in him. He knows he's highly sought after. It's normal for him to behave like this when he feels the next season is approaching and his future isn't settled. That starts to create anxiety. But I'm sure that, whether he stays at Sporting or leaves, he'll be satisfied, and Sporting will be too," Nani said regarding Gyokeres.

He added, "Is €80 million a fair price? It's a lot of money, but I'm not Sporting's president; I didn't make the investment. I just want it to be a good deal for Sporting."

The former Portuguese international praised Roberto Martínez and admitted he followed Portugal's Nations League campaign, which culminated in lifting the trophy.

"We have excellent players, and we're getting stronger and growing in the world of football. Portuguese players are increasingly gaining their place, earning respect worldwide. I really like Roberto Martínez. He's an excellent person," he said, adding that he believes José Mourinho will manage the national team in the future.

"If there's a coach who has to manage the national team, it's José Mourinho. For everything he's given to Portuguese football, his charisma, he's spectacular. Sometimes he has a more serious demeanor, which might seem a bit arrogant. But he has a very good side," Nani commented.

Regarding Ronaldo, who renewed his contract with Al Nassr, there were also only compliments. Nani believes the national team captain will still play with his son, Cristianinho.

"He's a machine. He's different. Sometimes we don't realize it, but we criticize Ronaldo and Messi a lot, but when football ends for both of them, we'll immediately feel the difference. We have to enjoy them," he stated.

Nani also commented on the chances of another Portuguese international, Vitinha, winning the Ballon d'Or.

"Vitinha is a star. His energy, vision of the game, with everything he's achieved at PSG, and even with the national team, he's already shown that all the nominations are justified," he concluded.
