Naija Super 8: Enyimba, Remo Stars clash again, Sporting Lagos, Akwa United join party

The final lap of the entertaining Naija Super 8 is set for Lagos Nigeria with NPFL champions Enyimba to meet Remo Stars again while Sporting Lagos and Akwa United have been handed tickets to the tournament,

NPFL champions Enyimba International and Remo Stars are set for another crunch tie in Lagos.

Enyimba and Remo will go head-to-head in the Naija Super 8 early next month.

The NPFL giants have been paired against each other in Group A at the Super 8 following the draw for the main event. 

Enyimba and Remo meet again

The People’s Elephant will face the Sky Blues in what is expected to be one of the games of tournament when the Naija Super 8 kicks off. 

Both teams clashed recently in the NPFL Super 6, with Enyimba and Remo serving a four-goal thriller.

Fans in Lagos will be looking for more excitement when the two giants lock horns again in the Group. 

Other teams in the group include Katsina United and Sporting Lagos. 

In Group B, it is an almost all-NPFL affair as former champions Rivers United. Akwa United, Lobi Stars face each other alongside NNL side Yobe Stars. 

Sporting Lagos and Akwa United are wildcards

Meanwhile, NNL side Sporting and Akwa United joined the Naija Super 8 party after they were picked as wildcards.

The other six teams qualified following an intensive playoffs at the Eket Township Stadium in Akwa Ibom. 

Both sides are in Group A and B respectively and are expected to add special flavour and vibes to the competition. 

The Naija Super 8 kicks off on Jul 7, 2023 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.
