Al Ittihad are reportedly set to make an improved bid worth upto 200 million pounds (Ksh 36 billion) before Thursday's transfer deadline day after an initial 150 million bid was rejected.

Liverpool’s iconic Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah has taken to social media amidst speculation about his Liverpool future, but has chosen the cagey card as he accompanied no comment to his post.

Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad are racing to seal an audacious £200 million swoop for the forward, given the Saudi Pro League transfer window will not closing until Thursday.

The Egypt captain posted a photograph of himself celebrating his goal in Liverpool's 3-0 Premier League win over Aston Villa on Sunday but - cryptically - offered no caption to accompany it.

Despite Liverpool making it clear they want him to stay after turning down a bid upwards of  £150 million from, Al-Ittihad, a purported new bid could test his resolve.

The Saudi club, who have already signed Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kante and Liverpool's Fabinho this summer, have not been deterred by the rejection of that bid.

Salah scored Liverpool's third of the afternoon in a comfortable win over Villa, after Dominik Szoboszlai set them on their way and Matty Cash put through his own net.

Afterwards, Andy Robertson insisted he is not concerned about Salah, 31, leaving in the closing few days of the Saudi window.

“For us there is no concern. For us Mohamed Salah is a Liverpool player and we believe that is what is going to be the case for the foreseeable future,” Robertson replied when probed about Salah’s future.

“Our squad is what it is and that's the squad that is going to go forward now with the window shut. It is about getting the most out of the squad, it is about looking forward to the season ahead and trying to do better than what we did last season.

“He's the ultimate professional. He does what it does, he is one of the best players in the world and he is professional. He lets other people do the talking, lets other people say what they have to say, but he's always been committed to Liverpool and you saw that with this performance.

“He's not been affected, I've been around him a lot and he's not been affected by anything. Mo has reacted in the best way possible and I think you have seen that with his performance, I think he was pretty special.”
