Manchester City overcame Leicester City 3-1 at the Etihad, closing the Premier League standings gap from five points to two points behind Arsenal.

Following their 3-1 win over Leicester City at the Etihad Stadium, the midfielder who came on as a substitute in the second half says they are In pursuit of overtaking Arsenal in the Premier League title race and insists that Manchester City would keep up the pressure.

Manchester City first half dominance

John Stones' exquisite volley gave us the early advantage, but Erling Haaland's first-half double put the game beyond the reach of the hapless Foxes.

Despite Leicester scoring a late consolation goal through Kelechi Iheanacho, City hung on to earn three significant points in the Premier League title battle.

Pep Guardiola's team has already won ten straight games in all competitions, and Phillips says the standard won't slip as we approach the end of the season.

Philip says City has got enough

Kelvin Philips was brought in to replace Rodri in the second half as Pep Guardiola tries to rest some of his players for the Champions League second leg against Bayern Munich.

Speaking after the game Philip said, "We said it from quite early on that we've got enough in the dressing room to go on a really good run.

"We try not to take anything for granted, keep pushing ourselves to become better and better every day. If we are not pushing ourselves then we have a manager who is definitely going to push us.

Manchester City will travel to the Allianz Arena on Wednesday as they take on Bayern Munich for the second leg of their UEFA Champions League tie.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s misery continued after they suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat in their Premier League clash against Brighton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon. The Blues were hoping to end their run of four games without a win, including a 2-0 loss to Real Madrid last Wednesday.
