Manchester United were defeated by Wrexham 3-1 in a pre-season friendly in the Snapdragon Cup with a player getting hospitalised.

Elliott Lee helped the Red Dragons score their first goal of the evening. Aaron Hayden quickly added a second goal for the Welsh team with a header. United scored a goal just before the intermission by running into the breakdown.

Daniel Gore received a red card for the Red Devils to begin the second half. After the dismissal, Wrexham scored their third goal of the evening off Sam Dalby's boot.

Despite Wrexham’s win, the highlight of the game was the collision between United's goalkeeper Nathan Bishop and Wrexham's attacker Paul Mullin which led to the forward being rushed to the hospital.

Nathan Bishop injured Paul Mullin's lungs

Paul Mullin was substituted in the first half after colliding with the Man United goalkeeper Nathan Bishop in the 20th minute of the game.

Man United have been involved in dangerous tackles that could lead to injuring their opponents in their pre-season friendly games.

The match against Arsenal witnessed a similar season-ending tackle from Lisandro Martinez which sparked lots of aggression from the Arsenal players.

A recent incident led to a Wrexham player ending up in the hospital after a collision with the United goalkeeper.

According to the Sun, the collision led to the player puncturing his lung and it is unclear how long the forward will be on the sideline.

According to reports, the striker would need to receive rehabilitation in the United States because flying is prohibited for six weeks following the injury. Depending on the severity, the injury may recover in four to eight weeks.

Wrexham manager fume at incident

After the 23-year-old goalkeeper collided with Paul Mullin during their preseason match in San Diego, the Red Dragons' manager let loose with a rant.

United are now concerned that Bishop may face hatred on social media as a result of Parkinson's remarks, especially if Mullin ends up missing a large portion of the season.

Parkinson said as reported by the Sun, “I’m fuming about it, I’ve got to be honest with you. It was a clumsy, reckless, challenge in a pre-season game and I’m not happy with it at all.

“I haven’t seen the goalie and he’s probably best steering clear of us.”

The Man United goalkeeper Bishop has apologised for the incident and has wished the forward a speedy recovery.
