Ajax are reportedly interested in re-signing Donny van de Beek from Manchester United.

Donny Van de Beek could be set for a move to Ajax, with the Dutch club reportedly interested in bringing him back to the club.

The 25-year-old signed for the Red Devils from Ajax in 2020, and even after a loan spell at Everton, the midfielder has not hit the ground running. De Godenzonen are now said to be considering re-signing him.

De Beek signed for the Red Devils for a reported £40 million fee from the Eredivisie holders and has failed to justify his price tag, playing only 60 games for Manchester United since signing in 2020.

The midfielder was sent on loan to Everton for the second-half of the 2021/22 season but only managed to play seven games for the Toffees as he struggled with injuries, in which he scored once.

He is currently ruled out of the season due to injury, and before then he only managed 10 appearances and four starts, despite a reunion between himself and his former coach at Ajax, Erik ten Hag.

The Mancunians will reportedly be willing to let him go for a fee of around £25 million in the summer, with his contract set to expire in 2025.

Shaw signs new deal

Meanwhile, as one player is set to leave Manchester United, another further intertwines his future with the club.

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has agreed to a contract extension with the Red Devils until 2027. Shaw penned a new deal with the Red Devils that will see him spend up to 13 years with Manchester United if he reaches the end of his current deal.

Shaw joined Manchester United in 2014 as the most expensive teenager in Premier League history after a £30 million move from Southampton and has established himself as one of the most important players in the club.
