Luis Enrique revealed that he is not taking a job in the Premier League this summer.

Luis Enrique has effectively ruled out replacing Antonio Conte as new Tottenham boss, saying he does not plan to join any Premier League team soon.

The former Spain national team manager was heavily linked with the Spurs' job after Antonio Conte left the role. The Lilywhites will have to look elsewhere, as the former Barcelona manager is not interested in a move to England.

What Enrique said

Luis Enrique was speaking on the prospects of him joining the Premier League when he revealed that although he would like to work in England, he does not see himself there in the nearest future.

He explained that he requires certain conditions to be in place, suggesting that a club in such a state is not readily available.

"I'd like to work in England, but I can't see myself there in June," he said, per the Athletic.

"I'd like to join a club where I could do important things, and that is very difficult to find.

"I would not go to any Premier League team."

The questions on a future in the Premier League follow strong reports linking the 52-year-old with the Tottenham job.

Enrique had been named alongside Julian Nagelsmann as candidates to take the summer job in the summer, with Conte's assistant Cristian Stellini appointed as interim until the end of the season.

The Tottenham job

In a previous report, Tottenham announced via their official channels that Antonio Conte has left the club by mutual consent.

The exit came after an explosive interview in which Conte publicly criticised his players and the club's culture.

Following the incident, Tottenham mulled over his future, and after a brief period in which his continuation was in doubt, the club announced that he has left the role.

Cristian Stellini, Conte's assistant, who took charge while the Italian manager was out with illness, will take charge as head coach, along with Ryan Mason as the assistant head coach, until the end of the season.
